Greg Pearn
Clerk
I am 77 and happily married to my beautiful bride, Nancy, of 56 years. We are blessed with three lively grandchildren.
I attended Christ the King grade school and U of D High School in Detroit before graduating from Redford High School in NW Detroit. Then, I attended Henry Ford Community College and worked for the Ford Motor Company.
I joined the Detroit Fire Department in 1967 and spent the next 38 years there, attaining the rank of Deputy Chief in charge of 1650 men and women, second in command to only the Chief of the Department.
I taught Fire Science at Michigan State University. My associate degrees are all related to fire activities, bomb disposal, crowd control, weapons of mass destruction etc.
I have a strong background in union activities and was politically active as treasurer for seven years in the Firemans Fund Association.
We moved from Farmington Hills to the most beautiful lake I’ve ever seen, and I want to keep it that way!
I am very concerned that the current Township board has been shoving things down our throats, especially the septic ordinance!
I’m all for a clean lake, but not this septic ordinance. I get my tank pumped every couple of years. I want a reasonable inspection timeline, and I want those systems that fail to be replaced with what is needed (standard tank and field), not costly high-performance tanks.
We can do better than this septic ordinance. We do not need or want an expensive septic ordinance that we never voted on or had a say in, and it’s most disturbing that the board went forward with it anyway.
It is unfair to all of us!
As your Township Clerk, I will do my best to fulfill my duties and certainly listen to ALL residents’ voices. With help from all, we can have a fair and equitable method of determining what’s best for our Township.
Electing me as your new Township clerk will help restore your due process and voting rights, which we have lost under the current Township board’s tenure.
